Miniature New Hampshire is the bantam variant of New Hampshire, a breed originally developed from Rhode Island Red. It is known as a productive and relatively robust hen, with a calm temperament and the characteristic warm reddish-brown plumage.
Why choose Miniature New Hampshire?
🥚 Good layer
Miniature New Hampshire is considered a good layer for a bantam breed. Our hens lay well and produce eggs weighing around 44 grams.
🌾 Lower feed consumption
Because this is a bantam breed, both body weight and feed requirements are lower than the standard New Hampshire. This makes the breed interesting for those who want good egg production from a smaller hen.
🐔 Not among the smallest bantams
Miniature New Hampshire has a relatively strong body build and is larger than many of the small, light bantam breeds.
❤️ Calm temperament
The breed is known for being relatively calm and docile. This makes it a pleasant breed in a hobby flock.
🌿 Robust and practical
New Hampshire was developed with a focus on, among other things, rapid growth, good egg production and vitality. The bantam variant retains much of the typical New Hampshire character in a smaller format.
✨ Beautiful breed
They have a full, warm reddish-brown plumage, yellowish legs and a single comb. The roosters often develop darker and more distinctive colors than the hens.
Our Miniature New Hampshire
Our hens are fed organic feed. We chose the breed because we like the combination of good egg-laying, relatively low feed consumption, fine egg size, calm temperament and a beautiful appearance.
🥚 Our eggs are approximately 44 grams.
