We have angora rabbits for wool and companionship. The angora rabbit is an exciting rabbit for you who wants both a lovely family pet and the opportunity to produce your own natural fiber.

🧶 What's special about angora wool?

Angora wool is known for being very soft, light and warm. The fine fibers hold air well and insulate very effectively, while finished products can feel light and airy.

The wool can be spun into yarn and used for, among other things, shawls, scarves, hats, mittens and other handmade products. It can be used alone, but is also often blended with sheep's wool to get a more durable yarn while retaining much of the angora's softness and warmth.

✂️ Coat Care and Wool Harvesting

The beautiful coat requires regular care. Depending on type and coat, the wool can be clipped or harvested when it's mature. After that, new wool grows back, so the same rabbit can provide fiber many times throughout its life.

Good coat care is important both for the rabbit's wellbeing and for the quality of the wool.

There are several types of angora rabbits, including French, German, English and Satin angora. They vary in size, coat amount and appearance.

Angora rabbits need, like other rabbits, plenty of space, lots of hay, fresh water, activity, security and good care. In addition, you should be prepared for more coat care than with a short-haired rabbit.
